Parent Skill Building
The parent educators utilize a positive parenting approach while providing education and skill building workshops. Individuals are encouraged to identify, and prioritize issues within their families, and are provided with the skills needed to support the health and well being of their families.
All parents need a little advice now and then. YGC covers parenting basics like positive discipline, healthy boundaries, and how to talk to your child about tough subjects; gangs, sex, tobacco, drugs and alcohol. Parents also receive linkages to support services.
